“Woolenstocks handmade slippers and boots. Made to bring joy and comfort to you and your family.”
When you wear your Woolenstocks handmade slippers, you will understand the story that is hidden in every stitch..
Our stories are originated from the Himalayas.
Tired from trekking, Woogo, a sheepherder, sought healing for his painful and blistered feet. He came across a tribe dancing in their village. Each one of them wore a pair of beautiful slippers – the most colorful Woogo had ever seen! When they saw Woogo’s sore feet, they took care of him and the sheep. A little while later, the tribe’s skilled female artisans gifted him a unique pair of felt slippers made by hand. The slippers brought Woogo comfort and as soon he recovered, found himself dancing to celebrate life with his newfound friends!
Now, Woolenstocks brings unique stories from the Himalayan region. Each pair is crafted with love, time and skill to give you comfort and to restore you – ready to dance again!
Each pair of Woolenstocks also means a valuable income and support for the female artisans who make them.
Chinara is one of the locals who creates these magnificent designs for Woolenstocks in her workshop in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This job helps her to support her two children and parents at home.
She tells us: “Woolenstocks helps me to experiment, marrying traditional local patterns with modern forms of today’s footwear. It’s a wonderful experience; I’m curious to learn and am free to experiment. I go to work with a smile every day!”
Woolenstocks brings joy to women like Chinara who make your slippers as they earn their way out of poverty. We also teamed up with Find your Feet to support the misfortunate in remote and rural communities around Africa and Asia. Find your Feet helps families grow their own food and are trying to find long-term solutions to end poverty.
